The Process of dental Implant in the Past Time:

As recorded, in the Mayan Civilization the first attempts for dental implants were done. The time was about 600 AD. As found by the archeologists, there are signs of dental replacements in the old skulls there. The implants were made from the stones of carved shapes. Other hard materials were equally used.

In the Victorian times as well the people from the upper echelons of the society used to have the implant processes availed. Various costly items were used for the implants, such as carved wood, gold and similar kinds of metal objects, ivory and so on. One very interesting example of this sort of implants is the one done to George Washington. However, these teeth were not much fit for the normal use as they used to fall down very shortly.

Stunning Use of Real teeth as Implants:

The Victorian era has witnessed the use of real teeth for the dental implant process. These real teeth used to be taken from other persons and were stored. Mostly, these teeth were collected by illegally excavating the dead bodies. When the war used to take place, teeth were taken from the dead bodies of the soldiers and were taken back to UK.

Wearing the teeth of these dead soldiers was a subject of great pride. The rich class of the society would feel much pride for wearing the teeth of these heroes of war.

Fast Advancement in Dental Implant Science:

From the 1950’s the real journey of tooth implant based on the medical science started. Researchers from University of Cambridge were the first ones to take the initiative to experiments about this matter. They found out about how titanium chambers can be used over the soft gum. Later surgeons from Sweden and other parts of the country also took initiative to develop the research. The dental expert Per-Ingvar BrÃ¥nemark tried to make a prototype of the tooth root. However, he was successful in much trial and error method. Now the X ray and digital imaging process is an added help to the whole process. Now the all on 4 Dental Implants is also available. Not only that the very understanding of teeth and gum has changed because of these researches but also that the dentists and patients both have developed a clear understanding of the cause and effect linked with the dental implant system. This is no doubt a huge step for the progression of medical science.
